On June 30, Agalarov Golf & Country Club hosted the 4th Rosbank Golf Cup 2018 amateur tournament. At the height of summer, the event gathered more than 250 guests including golfers, bank clients and partners, large international and owners and executives of Russian companies.
Early in the morning, after the traditional group photo, the golfers, as usual, went to the holes to start the sports part of the event. The tournament ran in the stableford format with handicaps, on a picturesque 18-hole golf course designed by American architect Cal Olson and covering 300 hectares. 84 amateur golfers took part in the competition, including Andre Marc Prudent, First Deputy Chairman, Rosbank Management Board, and Mikhail Bratanov, Rosbank Director of the Securities Servicing Department.
Closer to lunch, the entertainment program for guests began. Everyone could choose something for themselves. The main world capitals offered to try your hand at various activities: as a designer in a hat workshop in Paris, or have some nice cocktails in New York or in Cote d'Azur from Atout France, compete in RC racing in Milan. And of course, everyone, adults and children, could join the world of golf and practice their skills at the Golf Clinic under the guidance of the club’s director, Peter Anthony Holland, which was conceived to be in London. And the most successful golf beginner received a prize for his sporting achievements. The children's area offered face painting in improvised Moscow area.
The evening continued with an award ceremony, which was opened by Ilya Polyakov, Rosbank Chairman of the Management Board. In hi speech, he personally congratulated and gave the prizes to the tournament winners.
The awards were also solemnly presented to the winners by Deputy Chairmen of the Board Perizat Shaikhina, Ulan Ilishkin and Konstantin Artyukh.
In the strongest handicap group for men, Igor Knyazev scored the winning 39 points. Another golfer showed the same result, however, according to the Regulations, places were distributed in accordance with the handicap – the player who received fewer handicaps took a higher place in the final standings. Thus, Oleg Kumoshensky took the second step of the podium. The third place was taken by Boris Starikov, who lost only one point.
Oleg Galkin won the second handicap group with an outstanding result of 43 points. Roman Tsukur took the second place, scoring 42 points, and Andrey Nepomnyashchy, who scored 40 points, became the third.
As for women, Svetlana Komarnitskaya, who scored 39 points, was the best. The second place was taken by Maria Vishnyakova, who scored only one point less than the winner, and the third place was taken by Zhanna Tarasco.
Igor Knyazev and Maria Vishnyakova received prizes for the best gross score (the result with no handicap). Marina Savelyeva and Aleksander Glavatskikh managed to make their balls closest to the "prize" holes. Anastasia Vysotkina and Yevgeny Klyucharev hit the ball the farthest.
After the award ceremony, the guests took part in one of the most anticipated entertainment of the evening – an exciting Water Hole golf competition for everyone to test their abilities and try their luck by throwing the ball into a floating hole on the lake. There was a special prize at stake — accommodation in Cannes and Nice hotels and playing golf on the French Riviera.
